A sci-fi love story, married beneath a Stargate-inspired arbour
A long time ago (well, July 2026), in a Scenic Rim not so far away...
Two sci-fi fans, Hamish and Tebany, set out on their greatest mission yet: getting married at Maroon Hill Estate. And their ceremony arbour was no ordinary arbour. It was a Stargate, inspired by the TV show they both love, and it was easily one of the most unique ceremony backdrops I've ever filmed.
A ceremony beamed across the galaxy
With friends and family tuning in from across the galaxy (okay, from around the world), Hamish and Tebany livestreamed their ceremony with their own setup. We worked together beforehand to get my audio feeding into their stream, and on the day I covered the ceremony from multiple camera angles with backup audio running. Good thing too, because when their microphones dropped out the backup saved the day and every word of their vows came through crystal clear.
Their wedding film
Hamish and Tebany told me they didn't realise how many angles we'd captured until they watched it back, and that the films captured the day so well. It was so lovely getting to know them both. Their package included the highlight reel, full ceremony and speeches. Dial the gate, strap in and watch their highlight film above!
