Guide to Getting Married on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast isn't just glitz and glam, it's also got amazing beaches, rainforest and canals. I've shot for couples who travelled to the coast for a destination wedding, and locals who wanted to keep it close to home. If you're looking to get married on the Coast, here's your ultimate guide!
The Gold Coast is one of the most beautiful and popular wedding destinations in Australia. With its stunning beaches, lush hinterland, and world-class venues, it's no wonder so many couples choose to tie the knot here. As a wedding videographer based on the Gold Coast, I've had the pleasure of capturing many beautiful weddings. Here's my guide to getting married on the Gold Coast.
Consider your venue carefully - (and think of a rainy day backup!)
The Gold Coast offers a wide range of wedding venues, from beachfront resorts to picturesque hinterland estates. When choosing your venue, consider your budget, guest count, and wedding style. Make sure to visit the venue in person and ask plenty of questions before making a final decision.
Pick the perfect date
The Gold Coast is blessed with warm weather and sunshine for most of the year, but it's important to consider seasonal factors when choosing your wedding date. The peak wedding season on the Gold Coast is from September to April, so expect higher prices and more competition during this time.
Find your vendors
The Gold Coast is home to many talented wedding vendors, including florists, photographers, and of course, wedding videographers. Take the time to research and meet with potential vendors to ensure you find the perfect fit for your wedding.
Consider transportation
Transportation is an important factor to consider when getting married on the Gold Coast. If you're having a beach wedding, consider arranging transport for your guests to and from the beach, as parking can be limited! For hinterland weddings, consider hiring a bus or shuttle service to transport your guests to and from the venue, as there often isn't public transport in the hinterland.
Plan for the weather
While the Gold Coast is known for its sunny weather, it's important to plan for the possibility of rain or extreme heat. Make sure your venue has backup options in case of inclement weather and provide plenty of shade and hydration for your guests if it's a hot day.
Don't forget to book!
If you're having a beach wedding, you'll need to book with the local council and pay a small fee. Make sure to do this well in advance to avoid any last-minute issues.
Hire an amazing wedding videographer/photographer
Last but certainly not least, consider hiring a wedding videographer to capture all the special moments of your big day. A wedding video is a beautiful way to relive your wedding day for years to come.
Getting married on the Gold Coast is a dream come true for many couples, and with a little bit of planning and preparation, it can be an unforgettable experience. As a wedding videographer on the Gold Coast, I can't wait to capture your special day in all its beauty.
